1) Remember that love is a verb. Choose to love your spouse, no matter what the situation is.

2) Communicate even if it results in an argument. Choose a private place and a time when you can discuss your issues without interruptions.

3) Outlaw any name calling, references to past history, and cheap shots during the argument. Stick to the issue at hand.

4) Listen to your spouse attentively without interruption. Pay attention to the emotions that lie behind the words and body language. Do not try to change those feelings or offer solutions, just validate them by listening.

5) Don't go to bed angry at each other. Call a truce before bedtime. Most things look better in the morning.

6) Take action. Do something every day that shows your love for your spouse even if you don't feel love. Love has a funny way of creeping back into the picture.

Hello, it's Rebecca. I am an empath. I'm wondering if you are. There's been more and more posted on the internet about Highly Sensitive Persons or "Empaths". The personality trait -- which was first officially researched by Elaine N. Aron, Ph.D., in the early 1990s -- is relatively common, with as many as one in five people possessing it according to research. (Personally I think the number is much higher because of the masking effect I am about to discuss!)

What is an empath or a Highly Sensitive Person? Well, the most obvious sign is that you feel like you are more sensitive than everyone else. However, there are many other signs that you might be an empath. I have listed 16 of the most common signs that I've witnessed in my work over the past 20 years.

QUIZ: AM I AN EMPATH? Count how many of the following statements apply to you:

oI avoid watching the news because it is too stressful or upsetting.

oFrequent sensation of being mentally scattered or having brain fog.

oI struggle with chronic anxiety.

oI feel when others are upset, angry, or sad without them saying it.

oI feel drained after talking with someone upset or negative.

oEmotional radar was developed due to childhood exposure to abuse or alcoholism.

oChronic problems with overeating or binge eating.

oI have a very strong sense when people are lying.

oChronic moderate to severe environmental allergies or digestive problems.

oAvoid crowds and feel drained and tired after being in groups.

oExperience other people's anger like a "sonic boom" to your nervous system.

oFeel like a psychic "sponge" to the people and places around you.

oFrustrated by your lack of resilience to stress and stressful people.

oUnexplained bouts of sadness or depression that come and go.

oFeel like being sensitive is your weakness or "Achilles' Heel".

oHave difficulty drawing boundaries or saying "No" to others.

If you scored high on this quiz, you will probably agree that being empath can feel more like a burden or an on-going challenge than anything else. But did you know that being highly sensitive could be the exact reason that you have not been able to overcome other problems in your life? Here are some common ones I am going to discuss today:

oSerial Stressful Relationships

ANXIETY AND PANIC ATTACKS. I have never (in 20 years!) worked with a client who suffers from anxiety who wasn't an Empath! Highly sensitive people are highly reactive to their own internal dialogue and stories. This means that they can put themselves into fight or flight just by thinking about stressful situations! The problem is that if left unchecked, anxiety and panic tends to mushroom. This means that it will start in one area of your life like driving and then it extends to other areas of your life.

Instead of getting frustrated and criticizing yourself for being too anxious or reactive, you've got to honor your nature and learn how to work with it. If you struggle with anxiety or panic attacks, I would love to show you how to retrain your mind and body to have a relaxation response to stress and stressful thoughts instead of the fight or flight response which underlies anxiety and panic. My program for breaking the cycle of anxiety bridges the gap between intellectually knowing what needs to happen and actually embodying the resilience and calm you want.

Emotional Eating">Emotional Eating and Eating Disorders. I have never met a client who emotionally eats, binges, purges, or starves herself who isn't an empath. Emotional eating is one way that highly sensitive people cope with the overload of stressful emotions and energy that they are perceiving. If you're an empath who overeats or binges and purges, It's as if you literally can't stomach stress. And believe it or not, sugar addiction plays its part.

I believe that sugar is like a reset button on a circuit breaker for sensitive people. It is a way to numb out the sensory overload of stress that certain empaths experience in the nerves of the stomach. The good news is once you learn a system to clear and manage emotional stress at the subconscious level you can separate out food from your emotions and learn more effective ways to cope. I have created a specific 90 day program for empaths who struggle with emotional eating and purging which helps to break the cycle of addictive eating.

PROBLEM SADNESS AND DEPRESSION: I grew up in an alcoholic home. And like many highly sensitive children, my emotional radar was always "ON" as I tried to navigate around my parent's moods and the dysfunction in the home. As a teenager, I began to suffer from depression. I believe that depression, in many cases, is another type of coping for certain empaths where the person shut downs when feeling emotionally overwhelmed. Hypnotherapy helped me heal my depression by clearing the old wellsprings of emotion left over from childhood and providing me with active tools to become more emotionally resilient. Now, I teach other empaths how to clear their stress at the subconscious level and stay more emotionally grounded and positive.

SOCIAL ANXIETY: Empaths are sensitive to the energy and emotions of the people and places around them. If you struggle with social anxiety, it seems that you are particularly affected by the stressful emotions and stressful energy of the people and places around you. In other words, group situations and community spaces are your biggest challenge. High school, college classes, busy or stressful work environments, shopping malls, concerts, amusement parks and other similar places are like emotional toxic soup for these types of empaths and thus they tend to avoid these crowded places or feel extremely drained after being in them. The good news is that you can learn a system of hypnosis and imagery techniques to become resilient to the energy of the people and places around them.

PROBLEMS IN PERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS: Do you feel drained, tired or down after you talk to a friend who is upset? Many empaths struggle to draw healthy boundaries with others because saying "No" is uncomfortable. Furthermore, you may put aside your own needs rather than experience the discomfort of feeling the other person's disappointment, frustration, or anger. In other words, you avoid conflict! This can create a huge problem in love relationships and friendships because over time you tend to become increasingly unhappy living out everybody else's daily stresses and as you habitually put aside your own wants and needs for others. Believe it or not, there is a way out of this. You can learn to develop "healthy detachment" and stop getting steam rolled by other people's stresses and emotional dramas.

THERE IS A SOLUTION! If you are someone who struggles with any of the problems on my list of 16 signs, it is my 100% belief that you ARE an empath who just needs to learn how to manage your sensitivity so that it becomes your GIFT instead of what holds you back in life.

I believe this is very important for you and humanity! Believe it not, the ultimate role of the empath is NOT to absorb stress or go into the pit with everyone else's dramas. The ultimate destiny of an empath is to rise above the stresses and anxiety of the world around you, unleash your brilliance and become a light to this world in the unique way that only you can do!

Are you wondering how to be happy single? It is not easy being single in a couple-oriented world. Most of us spend our youth dreaming about finding that special someone that we could marry. When your aspirations of finding a soul mate do not come true, you fee like an outcast. You may refuse invitations to weddings, dances, or other events where you will be among couples. An old saying goes that one is a lonely number, but it is not always true. Here are some tips on how to be happy single.

Look on the bright side. Think about all the advantages of being single. You have your independence. You can do whatever you want when you want. You are able to focus on your career or take an unplanned trip. You can take up new hobbies like playing a guitar. Not being in a relationship allows you to do this.

Study married people or people in relationships around you. Marriage and going steady are wonderful but they do not come without problems. Just because someone has a significant other does not mean they are happy. The divorce rate is at an all time high so you save yourself the pain of divorce.

Find an online support group. You can get good advice in singles forums online. They come from all walks of life and many are just like you. They need someone to talk with and to know they are not the only singles out there. The good thing about online forums is you can be anonymous.

Learn to accept yourself. This is perhaps the most difficult part of being single. We tend to blame ourselves for the way we are. Stop acting like something is wrong with you. If you can not accept yourself, no one else will. Never pity yourself. Self pity will not get you anywhere. Bitterness only adds stress. Enjoy the life you have and stop stressing. If you have broken up with someone, resist the urge to call them.

Get together with other singles of the same gender. Maybe some of the single men and women at work or church would like to start a club. Something magical happens when you are surrounded with other single friends. Invite them over to watch movies or cook dinner. It keeps you from always thinking about your singleness.

These are a few tips on how to be happy single. Singleness is not a bad thing no matter what anyone says. The single life is becoming more and more acceptable because people are realizing the benefits. Life is not all about finding Mr. or Mrs. Right.

I Broke Up 1 To Many Times
Started seeing my ex girlfriend 6 years ago. It started off amazing, perfect. After about two years I started to cheat and then I didn't want to spend time with her. I still only loved her and didn't date any other girls but sometimes when I was out I would kiss other girls. Eventually I broke with her and she started seeing somebody else. I was devasted she moved the guy in after two weeks. I was living in the apartment above hers and would have to see her new guy every day. I pretended to everybody that I had moved on but in the back of my mind I knew I was always waiting after a year and four months I got my wish, she dumped the guy and we were back together after two weeks. She moved and I went back to my old ways....... So we broke up again. It was all my fault I didn't realise what I had until it was gone thinking I would be ok after weeks I would start to miss her so much. This time I said I have to marry her if I keep missing her when she gone. I booked a holiday and bought a ring. She said hell no and that I've given you enough of my life. In a past break up she changed her number and still came back saying I will always love. I have bombarded her with texts and made no contact for 7 weeks but nothing has worked she won't even speak to me total cut off. The holiday leaves in four days and I don't want to move on but it's been 5 months. There's obviously more to this but I'm out of ideas.

Do I really need to force myself to meet other girls, seems like the only way I can forget her.
